Weekend Fun

We decided to go on our first camping adventure of the year!  Well, it was an adventure!

We got to Cliff and Wade Lakes around lunch, but most of the sites (including our 2 favorite sites) were already filled, so we had to go to the Hilltop Campground.  We had a little trouble finding a site big enough.  Tim got the camper parked about 3 in. from a large pine which was not cooperative.  The details are not pretty.

After lunch at the camper, we took the boats down to Cliff Lake.

Tim’s phone died on analog, so we charged it on the way back to the camper.  Oops, overnight too!  Soooo, we had to get a jump from a fellow camper Saturday morning.

Saturday, we spent down at Wade Lake.

What happens when you can’t see backing up into your site?

This after we shook the glass off the kids!!  But. . . our excitement doesn’t end yet.  While Tim was taping this up, the kids found a lost dog in the ravine.  When we first pulled in, a man had come around the loop looking for his missing dog.  When the kids found her stuck in the thick brush later, the poor old girl couldn’t walk, stand, or even bark.  She was too big for me to carry out, so Tim found her owner.  The man and his friend came with a blanket and carried her up the hill.  Tim drove them back to their site in the truck bed.  Time for supper and s’mores.

This morning, we went back to Cliff Lake for a couple more hours of fun, before heading home.
