All the kids finished the school year on Thursday, and summer (in name only!) began! We didn’t have time to relax, because we were off to Layton for the Wasatch Tournament.
Syd is still in a brace, and I am not convinced that we don’t need to get an MRI. I want to schedule one when we get back, but everyone tells me to wait another week. I am tired of waiting!!!Friday night’s game, she was carried off again! Not a happy mama bear! She tries, but can’t play full-throttle like she normally does. It is hard to watch as Mom and a spectator, because I know how she can play when well. The team has lost 3 games, but they were all close games. Syd just played to relieve players, so they could get a break. So she had to watch most of the games, which is frustrating for her too.
Saturday night, we went to the SLC REAL game. Syd’s team got to walk out on the field at opening. They had lots of fun. Until . . . . the flood came! We were literally wringing out our clothes when we got back to the hotel! Wow! Wet, wet, wet!!!!
Sunday, since there were no scheduled games, we shopped at IKEA and the Gateway. This morning (Monday), the team had their last game which was scheduled at a field called North Pond Field. The field lived up to his name! After the snow last night, it was a pond this morning!
The game was moved into an indoor arena nearby. They did awesome! The team really knows how to play indoor, and they won 8-0. Syd even got to play a little on the even surface!
We are staying another night, because Chy has an endocrinologist appointment in Ogden tomorrow. It is a fasting test, so it is easier for her if we are close to the doctor’s office. Tim is staying in his own hotel tonight near the airport, because he is flying to Pittsburgh in the morning. We will divide and conquer!
This afternoon after everyone else headed back to Idaho, no one felt like shopping. It was still raining, so we went to the movies. Captain Jack is a great escape!
